It all began for Tim within the suburbs of Toronto.

Living as a child near a wooded ravine, I developed a fascination for trees and, being in Cottage country further developed this relationship through the formative years. My Grandfather was a carpenter by trade and used me as his helper here and there deepening my interest in the versatility of wood creations. In middle and high school my proficiency in wood shop and art actually saved my grade average.

Life being what it is the need for money outweighed the art side of life for a while, until I ended up back in the rain forests of B.C., back in contact with trees.

Then the rain forests of Venezuela.

Then the rain forests of Ghana.

Being reunited with trees for many years and then back in the throes of everyday life, I purchased a wood lathe for the purposes of turning spindles for a heritage house my wife and I had purchased.

It felt good.

Then, I parlayed my skills into bowl making. An upgrade in equipment was soon necessary (in my opinion).

Cruising the established streets of Vancouver has afforded me with a supply of beautiful hardwoods. This wood has adorned the city streets for decades and has either fallen prey to the elements or removed by the city as a hazard. It is a shame to see it thrown to the chipper with so much more to offer.

With chainsaw in hand, I salvage as much as possible to transform it into my fine bowls and vessels.

By purchasing my bowls and vessels you will preserve a little tree heritage and also make room for more fluid movement in our house, which my wife will appreciate.
